Tsinghua and Peking University: What? The Starship Chief Designer Was Reassigned?

Luo Ji was reborn, but this wasn’t his first time. It was his 128th.

All 127 previous attempts had failed, and every death wiped his memories. Only in this round did the System display a line that had never appeared before: “Round number: 128.” That was when he learned his father had once been bound to the same System. His father had failed, had his memories wiped, and left behind just one sentence: “You’re not ready yet.”

This time, Luo Ji returns from 2035 to 2024. He has personally witnessed the Long March 12 explode in the Gobi Desert after its material supplies were cut off, and carries with him all the experience accumulated over the previous 127 rounds. Starting with the lithography machine parameters that had been strangled by foreign restrictions, he will develop next-generation aerospace alloys, room-temperature superconductors, and controlled nuclear fusion, step by step building China’s own Far Voyage series of spacecraft.

From Mars to Jupiter, from Saturn to the Kuiper Belt, from leaving the solar system to entering interstellar space in the Milky Way: twelve ships, twelve keels, twelve generations of astronauts. When Far Voyage 8 sends back an image of the sun as just another ordinary bright star, humanity finally understands: we are no longer alone. From Mars to interstellar space, the precursors of life are everywhere.

This is a story about “keeping going”: not moving forward with the blessing of a predecessor civilization, but choosing, generation after generation, to take that step even when they know the cost.
