Reborn as a Grand Princess: Mad, Bloodthirsty, and Fighting for the Throne

She was born into the depths of the Dajing imperial palace and, on the day of her birth, supposedly caused the death of the empress.

Overcome with guilt, the emperor immediately named the infant Princess Zhaoyang, granted her a golden seal, and gave her the stipend of a prince.

Everyone saw her as a pampered princess without a mother, a pretty ornament with nothing else to offer.

Then, when she was fourteen, the Crown Prince tearfully accused her before the throne of secretly stockpiling weapons and murdering an official of the court.

The young woman entered the hall at an unhurried pace, carrying a black lacquered box. Smiling, she lifted the lid.

A bloodied human head rolled onto the golden-brick floor with a thud.

“Elder Brother, you say I’m a murderer? What a coincidence. I also have the ledgers for your private sale of official posts. Shall we compare notes?”

No one knew that, over the fourteen years she had kept to herself, she had secretly built up a vast power.

The Shadow Pavilion’s assassins struck with bloodshed, taking lives without a trace;

The Wind Listening Tower had informants across the Nine Provinces, with eyes and ears in every corner of court and street;

The three thousand death warriors of the Black Armor Guard stood ready for battle, their strength surpassing the capital’s imperial troops.

The Crown Prince? The Noble Consort? Princes fighting over the throne?

Xiao Jingyuan brushed her finger over her jade thumb ring, her smile cold. “This throne is mine.”

Later, when officials knelt and foreign nations came to pay tribute, the world finally learned that this seemingly spoiled princess was a bloodthirsty killer who had founded an age of unparalleled prosperity.
