Concealing My Edge: If This Is the World, I’d Rather Not Play

Everyone thought the Ouyang family’s second young master was the laughingstock of the capital, a wastrel who spent his days cockfighting and chasing dogs, a hopeless case who could never amount to anything. That was until he beat the son of the Minister of Revenue to death in the street, and the Governor of the Capital dared not arrest him, because his elder brother was Ouyang Lie. No one knew that this debauched second young master was actually the head of the Guanyi Pavilion. After ten years of lying low, he controlled a commercial empire spanning seven kingdoms and an assassin organization, all to protect his elder brother’s back. A million-strong coalition from six kingdoms bore down on the borders, and grain prices across the seven kingdoms collapsed at once. He brushed the dust from a chess piece on his fingertip and looked toward the palace. “Your Majesty, it’s your move.” The world was the board, and he was the player. From concealing his edge to securing the realm, and then to no longer playing.
