The Tang Dynasty Envoy to Japan

The year Empress Wu Zetian ascended the throne, the Grand Astrologer secretly reported: Five hundred years from now, Japan will bring calamity to China.

The Empress secretly summoned Zhao He, bestowed upon him the Seal of Pacifying the East, and sent him across the sea. His mission was not to wage war, but to spend his life, several generations, even a thousand years, undermining the Japanese imperial house from its very roots.

But as soon as he arrived in Wa, a female warrior blocked his way. "I hear Tang men are formidable. There's only one way to find out!"

One arrow pierced her heart, and she fell to her knees.

A princess came to visit in the dead of night. "Will you teach me how to govern?"

A young kunoichi protected him in secret. "I cannot disobey my master's orders."

A noblewoman presented him with a poem. "Lord Zhao, please enlighten me."

Zhao He had expected this to be a lonely undercover mission. He never imagined he would be surrounded by beautiful women, murderous plots, and political schemes like a game of chess.

Five hundred years later, Japan did indeed fall into turmoil.

But the Zhao family's thousand-year plan had finally reached the day it would close its net.
