Before the Old Street Was Redeveloped, He Moved into My General Store

Wei Jinzhi’s general store is about to be demolished.

Her mother needs money for a follow-up examination, and she’ll do anything to protect the shop her grandfather left her.

The surveyor who comes to measure the walls is named Pei Xuyuan. He wears glasses, doesn’t say much, and works with the precision of a ruler.

“My shop isn’t being demolished,” she says.

“That’s not up to me,” he replies.

Later, he moves into the loft at the back of her shop.

Later still, he helps her save it.

The neighbors all say Engineer Pei has a thing for Boss Wei.

Jinzhi insists, “He’s just a tenant.”

Until one day, Pei Xuyuan places a property appraisal report in front of her.

“This isn’t the price of the shop.”

“It’s how much I’m willing to offer to marry you.”
