Silent Glimmer

In modern-day Ning’an, Chen Yan, a forensic pathologist with the city police department, and Su Jing, a funeral home makeup artist, are two souls who work with death every day. They meet while quietly carrying out their duties: he searches for the truth with a scalpel, while she uses her brush and gentle touch to restore the dignity of the dead. When two professions shrouded in social prejudice come together, their love quietly takes root at the boundary between life and death. This is no grand, dramatic romance, but a steady current of understanding and companionship. It is a story about the dignity of life, faith in one’s calling, and the warmth of standing by one another, painting the gentlest light of humanity against the chilling backdrop of death.
