Siheyuan: Daoist, Stop Your Curses, the Jia Family Has No Heirs Left

In the late autumn of 1958, young Chinese medicine practitioner Chen Changsheng moved into the east wing of the rear courtyard at No. 95 Nanluoguxiang, carrying a copper coin left to him by his late master. Raised from childhood by an old Taoist in the mountains, he is the last inheritor of the Celestial Master lineage. Officially, he is the newly transferred resident doctor at the Red Star Steel Mill’s clinic. The copper coin is both a personal magical artifact and the vessel for the “Bad Luck Curse System”: anyone who harbors malicious intent toward him and acts on it will automatically suffer misfortune. Anyone whose curse he personally lifts is left with only one deep-seated thought: “Never provoke this Taoist.” Yet they can never remember why he is so uncanny. Chen Changsheng has no grand ambition to save the world. He only wants to preserve his single-heir Taoist lineage and live a quiet, peaceful life in the courtyard. But the three grand uncles each have their own schemes, Xu Damao is sly and despicable, Jia Zhangshi is a shameless troublemaker, and Silly Zhu is always picking fights… These beasts just won’t leave him in peace. In that case, this poor Taoist will start a “Repentance and Tranquility Class,” where the beasts can come in on their knees, leave with smiles on their faces, and cry as they help him sweep, cook, and do the laundry.
