Record of the Divine Descendant's Search for the Mountains

Before my grandfather disappeared, he left behind a sheepskin map. Ever since, a mark has appeared on my palm. It burns late at night, as if something beneath the earth is calling to me. I brought Hu Shan on board, then met Yun Yao, who could identify every herb, and Su Qing, whose fighting skills were animal-like. Once the five of us were together, we plunged into the remote mountains of western Hunan. That was when we discovered that every place on the map came from the Classic of Mountains and Seas. Xingxing, Lushu, Xuanguis, Lilis, nine-tailed foxes, Changyou: mythical beasts appeared one after another. There were underground altars, a thousand-year-old bronze scepter, a stone chamber covered in oracle bone script, and a woman in white who had guarded Qingqiu alone for three hundred years. With every step, I drew closer to my grandfather. And every layer of fog we lifted revealed an even bigger web. Yin Wuji had spent thirty years collecting the treasures of the Classic of Mountains and Seas. The old partner at his side had once been my teammate’s partner, thirty years ago. They say there are nine gates in this world, each leading to another world. The key isn’t an object. It’s a person. It’s my bloodline. Before my grandfather disappeared, he left me four words: “Turn back here.” But I can’t turn back now.
