The Buddhist Beauty of the Capital's Elite Circle Was Carried Home by the Crown Prince

In Beijing’s elite circles, there are two untouchable young nobles: Qin Banruo, a cool and aloof Buddhist devotee, and Gu Shiye, a rakish young heir. They’ve been fighting since childhood. Everyone thinks they’re sworn enemies, until someone catches the young heir pinning the Buddhist devotee in an alley, his voice low and husky. “Sister, I don’t mind what I eat. I’d like to try your vegetarian fare.”

The Buddhist devotee pauses with her prayer beads, then grabs him by the neck. “How convenient. This nun specializes in saving sinners.”

I’m Qin Banruo, the well-known Buddhist devotee of Beijing’s elite circles, and my family has handed me over to marry my archrival, Gu Shiye. He’s the wildest wolf in our circle, yet he puts on Buddhist prayer beads for me.

After we marry, he corners me beneath the crabapple tree in our courtyard, his eyes dangerous. “They say people who’ve left the world behind are compassionate, Wife. Save me.” I sneer. “I only save dogs.” Later, this wolf comes carrying our household register, whimpering, “Woof. Save me.”
