Ye Xian Fanfic: Falling into the Deep Valley, Spending My Life with You

With the flames of war in the northern frontier finally extinguished, Ye Xian, heir to the Marquis of Changxing, traded his broken body for a great victory for his country. He collapsed into a ravine, and the whole realm believed he had died in battle. No one knew that the reclusive physician Mr. Yun Yin, in repayment for the late marquis’s lifesaving kindness, had made an exception and saved the dying man, whose meridians were shattered and heart ailment had reached a crisis.

The one assigned to care for Ye Xian was Shen Lingyue, the physician’s disciple, whom he had adopted as a child. Raised in a secluded valley, she carried the fresh, unworldly air of the mountains. Her eyes were clear and pure, untouched by worldly vanity. As they spent day after day together, her gentle kindness healed his many wounds and quietly thawed the heart he had kept frozen for half his life.

Once his injuries had stabilized, Ye Xian insisted on returning to the capital. Knowing his broken body would not survive the hardships of life beyond the valley, the physician ordered Shen Lingyue to accompany him and care for him closely. The capital was bustling, but everything had changed. Chen Yanyun and his wife, Gu Jinchao, old friends who had once fought side by side to defend their country, were overjoyed to reunite with him and did everything they could to protect him. Shen Lingyue knew nothing of aristocratic etiquette, but with her peerless medical skills and forthright nature, she and Gu Jinchao hit it off at once and became close friends. By a stroke of fate, she also found her birth parents, whom she had been separated from for sixteen years: Shen Yan and his family. After a lifetime adrift, she finally found a place to belong.

When Gu Jinchao was near death after a difficult labor, Shen Lingyue risked her life to save her and brought her back from the brink. She became famous overnight. She opened Lingyue Hall in the capital, practicing medicine to help the people and becoming the city’s most purehearted and upright presence.

After spending half his life in lonely valor, Ye Xian finally let go of the fixation he had carried since youth and devoted all his tenderness to the mountain healer by his side. Hand in hand, they faced the long years together, supported by dear friends and reunited family, and found sweetness in all the days still to come.

The land does not forget its loyal dead, and the world does not fail the kindhearted.
