The Life of Chen Xiulian, a Country Woman

Chen Xiulian was a country girl born and raised in the countryside. She had a mother who doted on her, a wonderful best friend, and a man who loved her dearly.

Her life should have been carefree and smooth, with marriage and children to follow. But she never expected her life to take a turn when she moved to the city.

Soon after arriving, she got drunk and accidentally shared a bed with a man. When she became pregnant, she had no idea who the father was.

Her husband cheated on her with the shopkeeper next door. In a fit of anger, she went back to the village, but was kidnapped on the way. After finally escaping, she returned home to wait out her pregnancy. Her husband never came to see her, not even after she gave birth.

When she returned to the city, her husband had long since disappeared, and the shop had closed.

Chen Xiulian started over from scratch and opened her own restaurant.

She ran the restaurant while caring for her paralyzed mother, her own child, and the child her husband had with another woman.

Life was just too hard.
