Reborn in 1981: A Hunter in the Xing'an Mountains

Yang Tianxiang has been reborn.

He returns to a snowy night in 1981, to the boar hunt that changed the course of his life.

In his previous life, he was an unremarkable forest ranger. One failed hunt ruined his childhood friend, hurt the woman he loved, and destroyed the bond between their families. In the end, he lived and died alone, drinking himself to death in his little cabin on New Year's Eve.

This time, he returns to the age of eighteen with forty-five years of hunting experience. Armed with a hunting knife and two hounds, he starts by taking down a three-hundred-jin wild boar and gradually makes a name for himself in this vast forest of snow and ice.

He hunts roe deer and wild boars, battles lynxes and kills black bears, and ventures alone into Wolf Valley. From slingshots to water-cooled rifles, from trading daily necessities for cattle and sheep to opening up sales channels through the supply and marketing cooperative, he relies on his hard-won skills to give both families an enviably good life in the resource-scarce 1980s.

While others fret over getting a few pounds' worth of meat coupons, he makes sure both families eat meat at every meal and have plenty left over each year. While others haul logs at the forest farm for a meager fixed wage, he has already amassed a fortune of tens of thousands. While others worry about finding work, he has already secured steady jobs for his relatives.

Across the snowy wilderness of the Greater Khingan Range, wherever his blade and gun point becomes a hunting ground.

This is the story of a tough Northeastern man defying fate and changing his life. He ventures into the mountains, hunts beasts, protects his family, and makes his way in the world. His blood runs hot, his heart is wild, and his life is his own.

In a sentence: Back with forty-five years of hunting experience, he calls the shots in this vast forest of snow and ice.
