The Arrogant Heir: From the Start, I Recruit Lan Yu to Rebel Against Zhu Yuanzhang

Other people transmigrate as imperial grandsons in the Ming Dynasty and nervously try to curry favor with Zhu Yuanzhang. I transmigrated as Zhu Yun'tong, and decided to slack off from the start! My father is dead, my mother is gone, and the throne is about to go to Zhu Yunwen, my half-brother, that scheming little snake? And the court officials are still babbling on about “the distinction between legitimate and illegitimate heirs, and choosing the worthiest and eldest”? I flipped the table right back at them. Worthy, my ass! Half the Ming realm was conquered through the blood and sweat of my uncles from the Chang family! So, right there in the Fengtian Hall, in front of Old Zhu himself, I turned to the Huai-xi military faction and said, “Uncles, cousins, someone's trying to take our livelihood and cut off our way to survive. Are you going to swallow that?” My uncle Lan Yu slammed the table and leapt to his feet. “No way! Nephew, you tell us what to do!” Xu Da and the sons of Chang Mao drew their swords one after another. “Yun'tong, we're with you and you alone!” The civil officials were stunned. Old Zhu's face darkened. I simply took my time pulling out a list. “It's simple. Step one: purge the court, and throw all these blathering pedants out of Yingtian Prefecture. Step two: Grandpa, please move aside and enjoy your retirement.” From today on, I'm done pretending. Restraint? Compromise? Keeping the bigger picture in mind? Not happening. I, Zhu Yun'tong, the Ming Dynasty's most unhinged legitimate grandson, have the most formidable family backing me. I'll use the most violent means to take back everything that should have been mine, with interest! The realm may bear the surname Zhu, but it should belong to the Chang family too!
