The Outcast: Inheriting Bodhidharma's Legacy

My name is Liao Chen. My lay name is Shen Yan. But long ago, I had another name. I came from another world. In that world, I was obsessed with wuxia and immersed in Zen koans. I studied the martial arts systems in Mr. Jin Yong's novels over and over again, countless times. Then I died. And then, I came back to life. I became a baby abandoned at the entrance to an ancient temple deep in the mountains. The only thing in my swaddling was a slip of paper bearing the character “Shen.” The compassionate old abbot of Jingyun Temple took me in and gave me the Dharma name Liao Chen.
