Great Ming: I Was Slacking Off, but the Old Zhu Started Watching Videos

Xie Wujiu transmigrates to the eighth year of the Hongwu reign in the Ming Dynasty and binds himself to the “Become a God by Keeping a Low Profile System.”

As long as he stays an obscure, low-ranking official and quietly makes it to the Yongle era, he can become an immortal on the spot and receive trillions of supplies!

So he begins a life of extreme slacking off, dozing through court sessions and listening to music as soon as they end.

What he doesn’t know is that the Hongwu Emperor, Zhu Yuanzhang, has accidentally obtained a “Short Video System” that lets him watch clips from the future history of the Ming Dynasty.

One day, Zhu Yuanzhang is excitedly watching a grand video of the “Yongle Prosperity” when he sees something that leaves him stunned:

The Yongle Emperor Zhu Di, who rules the world and has conquered all beneath heaven, is respectfully holding a teacup and kneeling before a young man, calling him “Imperial Father”!

Old Zhu zooms in, only to discover in horror that the mysterious big shot who commands the Ming Dynasty’s power is none other than Xie Wujiu, the useless ninth-rank official who dozes through court every day!

Old Zhu is completely dumbfounded!

For the sake of the Ming Dynasty’s thousand-year legacy, Zhu Yuanzhang starts ruthlessly throwing Xie Wujiu under the bus.

“Minister Xie, you’re going to be Grand Secretary!”

“Minister Xie, I’m putting a million troops under your command!”

Xie Wujiu is on the verge of a breakdown. He desperately tries to get himself killed or demoted: “Your Majesty, I’m corrupt, lawless, and uneducated. Please exile me!”

Years later, as he watches the court officials kneel before him, Xie Wujiu is close to tears. “I thought I was supposed to keep my head down until the Yongle era! Old Zhu, why did you abdicate the throne to me?!”
