Before the Gaokao, My Homeroom Teacher Told Me, the Top Student, to Drop Out

I was always first in my grade on every exam.

But shortly before the college entrance exams, my homeroom teacher suddenly told me the school was expelling me because my grades were too poor.

“Your scores are in the single digits for every subject, and your total is under a hundred. Taking the college entrance exams would just be a waste of time.”

Heartbroken, I told my parents. Indignant on my behalf, they stormed into the school and demanded an explanation from the teacher.

But the moment my mother saw my report card, her expression changed. She slapped me across the face.

“We’ve fed you and paid for your schooling for three years, and this is what we get for our money?”

My father’s anger died down just as quickly.

“You’ve been last in your class for three years. Go work in a factory instead of wasting time at school.”

As they dragged me out of school, I desperately asked why they were treating me this way.

They didn’t answer. Instead, they took me straight to an electronics factory that ran around the clock.

Unable to bear it, I leapt from the rooftop.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day my homeroom teacher had told me I was being expelled.
