Light the Wedding Candle to Summon a Ghost Immortal

I was born a “soulless stillborn.”

To keep me alive, my grandfather stitched the heart of a half-ghost, half-demon into my chest. He also made me sleep every night with a blank spirit tablet in my arms.

For eighteen years, the villagers avoided me like the plague, while the lonely ghosts and demons in the mountains coveted my body like a choice cut of Tang Monk’s flesh.

On the eve of my eighteenth birthday, my grandfather died under mysterious circumstances.

The entire village sealed off the entrance, intent on using me as a living sacrifice to appease the evil spirits on the mountain behind us.

Just sit there and wait to die?

Instead, I threw on a blood-red bridal gown, lit the dragon-and-phoenix wedding candles, and forced myself to bow to Heaven and Earth with the spirit tablet in my arms.

“You’ve fed on my offerings for eighteen years. Tonight, I’m making you marry me!”

That night, the yin wind cleared a path, and a hundred ghosts wailed.

An eight-carrier black coffin smashed through the village entrance. The ancient fiend who had haunted my dreams for eighteen years stepped through endless karmic flames and lifted my red veil, then toppled an entire mountain with a single move.

“Chuchu, since you lit the lamp and summoned me, you’ll be mine for all eternity.”

Later, I took this god with me to college.

While other people skipped class to date, I snuck into the morgue at night to catch evil ghosts. While they studied for certifications and worked part-time, I exorcised vengeful spirits for merit.

The metaphysics masters from every corner of the country went collectively mad when they saw the century-old vengeful spirit beneath my feet.

Meanwhile, my decisive and ruthless ghost-immortal husband lazily leaned against my shoulder, his eyes filled with bloodlust and obsession.

“Wife, that ghost looks pretty nourishing. Want your husband to chop it up and make you some soup?”
