She Plants Roses in the Abyss

At twenty-six, Shen Mo's life fell apart in three ways at once: she lost her job, broke up with her boyfriend, and her mother came demanding money.

She used to be the kind of person who took the blame when coworkers passed it to her, put up with her boyfriend's indifference, and gave whatever her parents asked for. She was used to saying “yes” and “it's fine,” used to making herself as small as possible, thinking that way no one would abandon her.

Then one night, crouched on a street corner, she looked up and saw not a single star in the sky.

Later, she went to wash dishes at Sister Lin's little diner. Sister Lin told her, “Girl, a woman needs a place of her own.”

Later, her best friend Su Nian scolded her: “That's not kindness. That's self-destruction.”

Later, the intern Xiaoman asked her, “Sis, how did you make it through?”

She didn't answer. She just gritted her teeth and got back up, through every late night of overtime and every moment life ground her into the dirt.

She had no golden finger, no domineering CEO, and no savior arriving out of nowhere.

All she had was an ordinary self and a hidden fire that refused to go out.

This is the story of an ordinary woman growing flowers in the abyss.

There's no wish fulfillment, just taking things one step at a time.
