My Husband Hired Someone to Pretend to Be a Zombie and Fooled Me for Three Years. I'll Show Him What the Real Apocalypse Looks Like

I was trapped in an underground shelter for three whole years, and I was so thin I was little more than skin and bones.

Every day, the zombies outside pounded on the door like mad. I was too afraid to sleep, and my hair fell out in handfuls.

My daughter had a high fever that wouldn't break for seven days. I saved my last bottle of water for her, but in the end, she didn't make it. She died in my arms.

I drank muddy water seeping from the base of the wall until I was pissing blood.

Holding my daughter, I tried to crawl out through the ventilation duct to find a place to bury her.

But as soon as I squeezed into the duct, I heard two zombies outside squatting by the door, eating boxed lunches and chatting.

“Damn, how much longer is Brother Jie going to keep this act up? My throat's hoarse from all that yelling, and I only get five grand a month.”

“What's the rush? Brother Jie said we're done once that woman signs over all her supermarket chain shares.”

“Man, Brother Jie's living the high life. He posted on Moments yesterday, taking his mistress to Sanya. His illegitimate kid can already call him Dad.”

“Isn't his wife an idiot? She's been locked up for three years and still believes him?”

“You bet. I heard she cries over Brother Jie's photo every day, saying he died outside saving her and their daughter. It's hilarious.”

When I heard that, my body, which had been trembling from weakness, suddenly went still.

“If you love playing zombies so much, then I'll show you what the real apocalypse looks like.”
