I, Qin Qiong's Son, Ran Wild in the Tang Dynasty

I transmigrated as Qin Qiong’s son, but the System told me: “Activation failed. Train on your own.” Fine, I’ll train on my own. At twelve, my mother died of illness, leaving me a jade pendant. “Go to your ancestral lands and find out who you are.” At fifteen, my father was placed under house arrest, and overnight I went from being the son of a duke to having no one. That June, Xuanwu Gate ran red with blood, and I fought my way through the Eastern Palace Guard with my own hands. People asked me, “You’re just a kid. What makes you think you can do it?” I raised my bloodied twin maces and grinned. “Because I’m Qin Qiong’s son, because my brother is Cheng Chumo, and because they gave their lives to save mine.” At eighteen, beneath Mount Yin, two hundred thousand Turkic troops bore down on us. My best friend died holding the rear. As he drew his last breath, he pressed the jade pendant into my hand. “Live for me. Make your life count.” At twenty, in the ancestral lands of the Jiuli, I faced Zhu Yuyan, the leader of the Demon Sect. She asked, “You’re just a young upstart. What makes you think you can fight me?” I said, “My brothers who died, the woman who’s waited three years for me, and the son I haven’t had yet.” At twenty-five, on the ninth level of the Martial Tomb, the Martial Sage Bi Xuan had been waiting for me for ten years. He asked, “Why do you push yourself so hard?” I pointed toward Chang’an. “Because someone is waiting for me to come home.” Someone asked me, “You’ve spent your whole life killing like a madman. Was it worth it?” I smiled, remembering Cheng Chumo’s words: “Make the most of every day you’re alive. It was worth it.” This strike of my twin maces is for three thousand years of martial destiny in Huaxia. I’ll live a life worthy of my brothers. My name is Qin Huaiyu. My father is Qin Qiong, and I myself am a legend.
