Corpse Fishing

- Protagonist: Old Qin, a 58-year-old retired machinist who has been obsessed with wild fishing for thirty years. Stubborn and sharp-eyed, he knows the local waters inside and out. Years of living alone have made him far more sensitive to details than most people.

- Crime scene: Qingxia Reservoir, deep in a mountain gorge on the edge of the city. Built in the 1970s, the reservoir submerged an ancient village. The surrounding terrain is complex, and only one dirt road leads out. Few people ever come near after dark.

- Central case: While night fishing at the reservoir, Old Qin hooks a headless woman's corpse. The victim's identity is a mystery. Police discover that the case is closely connected to a disappearance from twenty years ago in the area submerged by the reservoir. Most of the people who knew what happened back then have since died or vanished under strange circumstances.
