The Foxlike Campus Belle and Her Catlike Boyfriend

The story takes place at a media university known for its freewheeling atmosphere. Mo Yechen is the Literature Department’s resident “weirdo,” a boy with delicate, catlike features and a deep disdain for life. He has topped the university’s GPA rankings for years, yet is always curled up asleep in the back row with an expression that says, “I want to die.” Liu Mengmeng, a fiery and straightforward beauty from the Broadcasting and Hosting Department, has her eye on this prickly top student who’s like a stray cat.

On the eve of a university-wide debate contest, Mo Yechen gets dragged in for a scolding by his instructor, Wang Jianguo, a middle-aged, balding man. The reason? Mo Yechen shoved the student council president into a fountain because the guy was blocking his light. Wang is frustrated that such a promising student is wasting his potential. Pointing at the perfect-score exam paper on his desk, he roars, “Mo Yechen! You’re the only one in the whole university who can get a perfect score! But what can you do besides study? Can you stop causing trouble like some hooligan?” Mo Yechen doesn’t even look up. He smirks, turning the craft knife in his hand. “Teacher, it’s precisely because I can study that you can’t bear to expel me, isn’t it?”

That finally enrages Wang, who threatens to transfer Mo Yechen out of the elite class. That night, to get back at him, Mo Yechen sneaks into the Broadcasting Department’s rehearsal room to cut the audio cables needed for the next day, only to run into Liu Mengmeng in the dark, talking to herself in front of a mirror. Not only is she unafraid, she grabs him by the wrist and stares at him with blazing eyes. “Mo Yechen, the arrogant guy from the Literature Department? I hear you come first every time, and the teachers can’t do anything about you. That’s hot.”

Their relationship begins with a little “mutual exploitation”…
