Your Lazy-Lazy: The Wine-Sword Immortal

Long ago, there was an immortal who traveled by sword, aloof from the world, his name renowned throughout the land. The Wine Sword Immortal was bold and free-spirited. He loved wine and swordplay, roamed the four seas, and visited famous mountains and rivers. One day, as he lay drunk among the green woods and emerald bamboo, he suddenly heard the melodious sound of a zither, clear as jade pendants chiming together. His spirits lifted, and his drunkenness vanished.

He followed the sound and saw a woman sitting on a rock by a stream, her pale fingers plucking the strings. Her features were delicate and refined, like a fairy descended to earth. The Wine Sword Immortal’s heart stirred. He marveled at her peerless beauty and stepped forward to speak with her.

“Your zither playing is extraordinary, miss. May I ask your name?” the Wine Sword Immortal said with a smile.

The woman looked up, her gaze as gentle as water. She parted her lips and said, “This humble girl is Lanlan, just a country girl. I wouldn’t dare claim to have any skill.”

The Wine Sword Immortal laughed heartily. “So what if you’re a country girl? Your music can summon phoenixes, and your beauty surpasses that of the immortals.”

At his words, Lanlan’s cheeks flushed, and she smiled shyly. “You flatter me, sir. I only play the zither for my own amusement when I have nothing else to do.”

Seeing how charming and bashful she was, the Wine Sword Immortal grew even more fond of her. “I am the Wine Sword Immortal, and I have always loved making friends with kindred spirits. With playing like yours, you must be no ordinary person. Would you care to share a jug of wine with me and talk about the affairs of the world?”
