Beast Taming Through Karma

In the third year of the spiritual qi revival, in Yasa City, Raine Swin is bound to an altar by his family and thrown into a restricted zone as food for disaster beasts. On the brink of death, he saves an Ember child. A black line of karma appears on his wrist: every person he saves leaves him with a debt he can never repay. He thinks it is a curse. Until, deep in the restricted zone, the phantom of Fenrir, the giant wolf, tears its way out of the karmic thread. Mythical Creature Template activated: the deeper the karma he bears, the stronger the beasts of Valhalla he can unlock. While others struggle to tame first-tier beasts, Raine already has the scales of the World Serpent covering an entire street. The seven great beast-taming families monopolize food, water, and evolutionary resources? He stockpiles tens of thousands of tons of supplies, tears through their blockade with his Valhalla beasts, and distributes rations to every Ember. Karmic debts pile upon karmic debts, mythical beasts upon mythical beasts. When a lord-class disaster beast breaks through the city wall and everyone falls to their knees, awaiting death, Raine descends from the sky astride an eight-legged heavenly steed. Behind him marches the entire host of Valhalla. Only then do the seven great clans realize that every karmic thread tied to the abandoned child they sacrificed is an invitation to their own funeral.
