My Commoner Family Are All Villains

[Easygoing adopted daughter vs. a deranged, mysterious tycoon family]

Lin Xia awakens to the truth: she is the real heiress in a period novel, taken back by a wealthy family, and she’s about to face cold treatment from her biased parents, schemes by the fake heiress, and a tortured romance with the domineering male lead. Lin Xia buys a standing-room-only ticket that very night and makes a clean getaway, choosing instead to be adopted by the Lin family, who run a corner shop in a tenement building.

She thought she’d get to enjoy an ordinary life selling spicy snacks and drinking Arctic Ocean soda. To support the family, Lin Xia gets up early and stays up late to run the shop. She patiently urges her laid-off dad to smoke less, pushes her “street loafer” big brother to work in a factory, forbids her forensic pathologist second brother from putting strange specimens in the fridge, and confiscates her “internet-addicted” third brother’s gaming cards. Their life is tight, but the family is incredibly warm.

Then one day, the original novel’s domineering male lead brings a convoy to block the shop’s entrance, threatening to force them out to avenge the fake heiress.

But then…

One phone call from her laid-off dad sends the male lead’s family into a financial crisis. Her street-loafer big brother clears the area with hundreds of burly men in security uniforms. Her internet-addicted third brother posts the male lead’s father’s tax-evasion accounts all over Tianya Forum.

The male lead trembles on his knees in front of a Little Smart phone, while Lin Xia chases her big brother with a feather duster. “You promised you’d work at an electronics factory! Have you gone back to collecting protection money?!”

The whole family trembles. “Xiaxia, please calm down! We’ll donate our spot as the richest family right away!”
