Reborn in 2009: Dilraba’s Private Assistant

Chen Lang was an old geezer nearing fifty in 2026. He opened his eyes in a college dorm in 2009, with nearly twenty years of future memories. A triple strike of lottery tickets, Bitcoin, and plagiarizing future hits meant that by 2013, he already owned a courtyard house inside Beijing’s Second Ring Road, several shops, and stocks, bringing in hundreds of thousands a month in rental income. He was perfectly content to lie flat. But then his mother came knocking: “If you don’t get a job, I’m burning your figurines!” Forced to send out 200 resumes, Chen Lang somehow ended up as an assistant to Dilraba, a rookie who had just debuted. From then on, the entertainment industry’s whole vibe changed. While the rising star memorized her lines on set, her male assistant lounged in a chair, munching sunflower seeds, with his cat beside him. Directors and producers scrambled to give Chen Lang boxed lunches, just to hear him talk about world affairs. Seeing her assistant living more like a boss than she did, Dilraba’s eyes turned red with envy. “Chen Lang, which one of us is the celebrity here?!”
