My Gorgeous Wife Is a Secret Foodie

Reborn in 2010, Chen Si'an achieves financial freedom in just three months by exploiting information gaps, then begins a completely laid-back life: fishing, making things by hand, gaming, and arguing online. His life motto is, “Slacking off is fun for a while; slacking off forever is fun forever.”

That is, until he runs into top-tier star Liu Yifei at a comic convention, where she is surrounded by obsessive fans. Desperate to get away, Liu Yifei points at him and shouts, “Honey! Help me!”

The cameras capture everything. #LiuYifeiSecretlyMarried explodes online.

To deal with this absurd PR crisis, the two sign an even more absurd “contract marriage agreement”: live together but sleep in separate rooms, put on an act in public, and divorce amicably after a year. Chen Si'an figures it’s no big deal. His house is big enough, and one more person just means another place setting.

What he doesn’t expect is that this “celestial beauty” on screen has zero life skills off camera. She gets caught sneaking snacks and cries while watching anime. His “lazy-guy-style” care for her, from setting up smart home gadgets so she won’t have to lift a finger to practicing lines with her on the recliner and 3D-printing figurines of her favorite anime characters, somehow makes Liu Yifei think... Maybe this guy is actually pretty reliable?

In the media’s eyes: a kept nerd × a fairy descended to earth.

In reality: a laid-back tech geek × an adorably clueless superstar. They settle who does the dishes with rock-paper-scissors, use their wits to hide snacks from each other, kill their succulents together on the balcony, and get chased by enemies in games together.

As the one-year deadline approaches, Liu Yifei holds out a revised agreement and asks softly, “Um... want to renew?”

Chen Si'an looks at his workshop, which she has somehow filled up without him noticing. “Sure. But next time, hide...”
