Her Other Face

Jiang Yiying is the perfect goddess in everyone’s eyes: gentle, beautiful, and kind. Only Shen Shubai knows how fractured a soul lies beneath her sweet smile. As her childhood friend and psychiatrist, he vows to heal the trauma caused by her family.

She gives him homemade cookies, with a note that reads: “Be sure to eat every last one, or I’ll be really sad. So sad I’ll want to hide you away, where only I can see you.”

Shen Shubai thinks it’s just a sign of insecurity, until his capable female secretary tries to get close to him. Holding a cup of coffee, Jiang Yiying whispers in the gentlest voice, “Anyone else who touches him will disappear.”

Only when the iceberg of truth surfaces does Shen Shubai discover that all her obsession and madness stem from a secret buried twenty years ago, one intimately bound up with him. The person he treated was not her illness, but the consuming, searing love that had eaten away at her.
