The Cannon Fodder Is So Clear-Headed It’s Terrifying

Top-tier star Xia Zhiyan is a dazzling award-winning actress in the public eye, but in private, she's a die-hard novel lover who lives and breathes books.

After a late-night shoot, she casually opened a new novel to unwind, only to get so furious at its ridiculous plot that she registered an account in the middle of the night. The reason was simple: the book had a cannon-fodder female character with the same name as her, written as a woman with no common sense. As the villainess's sidekick, she made illogical, self-destructive choices and met a tragic end. At her limit, Xia Zhiyan furiously typed out a long review: “Does the author think side characters are just NPCs to grind? If this cannon fodder had even a normal person's brains, she wouldn't end up with a bad ending!”

The instant she hit send, the screen flashed white and she lost consciousness.

When Xia Zhiyan awoke, she stared at the antique bronze mirror in front of her and the stunning face she knew better than any other, lost in thought. Even worse, she heard the voice of the original novel's brainless, vicious female character outside the door: “Zhiyan, stick to the plan. Today, push the male lead into the lotus pond. You'll get a nice reward once it's done.”

Xia Zhiyan: ???

I, the last great actress in the entertainment industry, have transmigrated into a badly written, unfinished novel where everyone's intelligence has been nerfed, and become a cannon-fodder character about to be written out.

Looking at the female character before her, with “I'm the villain” written all over her face, and the original male lead in the distance, whose clear eyes hold a hint of foolishness, Xia Zhiyan slowly picked up the script.

Since she's transmigrated into a cannon-fodder role, she'll be the one to rewrite the script.
