Stalingrad: I Just Want to Slacken Off Until We Surrender

I transmigrated to Stalingrad during World War II and became a cannon-fodder corporal in the German Sixth Army.

While everyone else shouts about dying for the Reich and charges into battle, I focus on slacking off and staying alive. I pretend to have a headache, twist my ankle, and can’t hear a thing, perfectly dodging every suicide mission.

With the mindset of an internet programmer, I plan routes to avoid shelling, model risks to evade traps, and take on the SS scapegoaters. In the freezing, hellish wasteland of minus 34 degrees, I lead my brothers through one desperate fight for survival after another.

I went from a shirking old hand who only wanted to survive until surrender to a leader responsible for a thousand lives in their darkest hour. I won’t die for the Nazis. I just want to bring my brothers home alive and see what peace looks like with my own eyes!

“We can lose the war, but I have to make it home from work alive.”
