Echoes of War: My Tear-Stained World War II Journal

This is a rare World War II time travel novel that does not pursue intense and exciting battles. The protagonist follows the US military from Normandy all the way to Germany. There is no cheating or crushing all the way, only the fatigue, silence, fear and tenderness on the march. The story is not about artillery fire and fierce battles, but about the people in the war: the memories of soldiers, the struggles of ordinary people, the guilt of survivors, and the quietest and heaviest reflections of war by a time traveler standing on the edge of history. There are no exaggerated bloody scenes, only encounters, partings and looking back along the way. It writes about war, but also about human nature, memories and redemption. What it really writes about is not explosions and deaths, but how the living move forward with memories. A Long Road from Normandy to Germany, a quiet, restrained, warm and powerful anti-war article about World War II. If what you want to read is not a cool novel, but a real and profound story about war and people, this book will be very poignant.

From Omaha to Hürtgen to the Ardennes Forest, the brutality of the battlefield is on display. From doctors to poets, from Tony to Jackson, the comrades around him fell one by one, and the protagonist also grew up. As Jason said, the protagonist behaved the same as Jackson.

The first and middle sections are very nice, and the second section is actually well written, but I am not very interested in the review and approval of war criminals at the end. I give this book 9 points, leaving 1 point for the author to surpass himself in the future. 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 🤭 🤭 🤭 🤭 🤭

I forgot to give it It's quite interesting. If you want to understand history, you can read it. It tells the story of major and minor events in history starting from the Normandy landing.

I have read five chapters and I feel it is well written. The work has a strong sense of substitution.
