Rule Horror: I Beat the Game by Exploiting Bugs

Welcome to the Realm of Rules. Follow the rules below, or die. Lu Heng looks at the slip of paper in his hand and adjusts his nonexistent glasses. “Eight rules, three logical contradictions, two priority loopholes, and one... trap.” While the other players struggle to survive in terror, he writes in his notebook: “Refuse when the neighbor asks to borrow something? Borrow their key instead. Bug exploited successfully.” “No going outside after 10 p.m.? Bribe the property manager for an ‘exit permit.’” “Run when you see the red-clothed figure? Chase after them and ask, ‘Where did you buy that outfit?’ The apparition freezes for three seconds.” His hot-tempered teammate Su Xiaohong: “Are you a damn psycho?!” Lu Heng: “No, I'm just a former game QA tester. Occupational habit.” When he bugs the entire instance until it starts to crash, the being deep within, the “Master of Rules,” finally turns its gaze on him: “What you're looking for isn't a loophole. It's an... invitation I left for you.” Lu Heng grins. “Your code is really badly written.” Then one day, Su Xiaohong becomes half-apparition to save him, and the man with permanently dead-fish eyes finally loses his cool: “You dare touch someone of mine? I'll show you what a... ULTIMATE BUG looks like.” 【A rational protagonist × a brawling teammate. They use science to deconstruct the supernatural and logic to kill the rules. Friendly reminder: Don't try exploiting bugs in real life, especially when it comes to traffic laws.】
