Double Fortune from the Supernatural

He exorcises ghosts not to save the world, but to make money. That's the life motto of Lin Yi, the “pay-me-more Daoist.” If he could finish a job with a single sword strike, he'd still drag it out into a three-episode saga of “grievous injury and blood-spitting” just to squeeze an extra two hundred yuan out of the client.

That is, until he casually fishes a red-clad female ghost out of the bathtub in a haunted house, only for her to cling to him and call him “husband.” Lin Yi's eyes light up. A thousand-year-old vengeful ghost? Worth at least a hundred thousand on the market! That very night, he posts her profile on the “Ghost Work AI” job platform, asking for 88,000 yuan, negotiable.

But then the reward for the top name on the Underworld's most-wanted list quietly rises to nine figures, and the photo looks exactly like the female ghost at his place, who's busy swiping his card to buy paper-craft bubble tea. She even thoughtfully transfers him the money with a note: “The bounty is yours. You are mine.”

From then on, the stingiest Daoist in the business gets himself a credit-card-swiping perpetual-motion machine. Other ghost hunters spend their talismans on exorcisms. He hunts ghosts... purely to cover his wife's shopping bills. When a plot to destroy the Three Realms begins to unfold, the mastermind stares at Lin Yi, armed to the teeth with the power of money, and the smiling, terrifyingly kind “perfect wife” behind him, and falls into deep thought.

Lin Yi counts the balance on his phone, which can never keep up with their spending, and makes a heartfelt suggestion. “Honey, next time I hunt ghosts, could you leave me a little room to... make a profit?”
