At the Crime Scene, the Icy Beauty Forensic Scientist’s Beast Goes Out of Control

Su Lin, a cold, aloof forensic pathologist who has never believed in ghosts or gods, discovers while dissecting one bizarre corpse after another that every clue points to a nonhuman “killer.” At the same time, Wen Jingci, an online novelist who specializes in stories based on the Classic of Mountains and Seas, repeatedly offers her precise crime-solving insights under the guise of a “reader,” leading her toward a “world of mythical beasts” hidden beneath modern civilization.

As the investigation deepens, a mysterious bloodline within Su Lin unexpectedly awakens. She discovers that she can not only see mythical beasts invisible to ordinary people, but also form mental links with them and even command them. It turns out that her quiet, aloof demeanor is a form of self-protection created by the power of her bloodline to keep it from spiraling out of control.

When she begins to accept her abilities and makes a pact with her first mythical beast, a mysterious multinational organization called “Chimera” comes to light. The organization is dedicated to capturing, studying, and even fusing mythical beasts, in an attempt to create the ultimate biological weapon. Su Lin’s extraordinary bloodline becomes their most coveted prize.

With Wen Jingci’s help, Su Lin uses her forensic expertise to solve urban cases caused by mythical beasts and clear the names of those innocently implicated. At the same time, she continues to recruit powerful mythical beast companions, grow stronger, and match wits with the Chimera organization, foiling one conspiracy after another. In the end, she uncovers the ultimate secret of her bloodline and the truth behind her parents’ disappearance.
