Shock! The Good-for-Nothing Young Master’s Bodyguard Is a Total Badass

The story is set in a futuristic city in the year 2224 of the New Era. Xin Ran, once the star bodyguard of a top security firm, was forced to retire after a mission went wrong. Buried in debt, she takes an exorbitantly paid but absurd job: provide round-the-clock protection for Lu Xingchi, the good-for-nothing heir to an enormously wealthy family.

Lu Xingchi is widely known as a terrible student, a social disaster, and a hopeless romantic. His daily routine consists of livestreaming video games and chasing third-rate celebrities. The brash, capable Xin Ran and the lazy good-for-nothing Lu Xingchi clash the moment they meet. Xin Ran uses iron-fisted methods to overhaul his life, while Lu Xingchi challenges her professional limits with one outrageous stunt after another. Before long, the two have become a bickering pair who can't seem to stay apart.

But a string of attacks on Lu Xingchi soon follows. Xin Ran uses her extraordinary skills to get them out of danger time and again, and as she protects him, she gradually realizes that this good-for-nothing young master is not as simple as he seems. He may look like he's wasting his time livestreaming, but in secret he's building his own information empire. He may seem hopelessly love-struck, but he's only pretending in order to protect the people who truly matter to him.

When Xin Ran's old enemies join forces with Lu Xingchi's family rivals, Lu Xingchi finally drops his act and reveals the terrifying power of the uncrowned king of the information age. His abilities complement Xin Ran's formidable combat skills perfectly. Their relationship transforms from employer and bodyguard into devoted partners who fight side by side. Together, they sweep all their enemies aside. In the end, Xin Ran sets the whole scene ablaze, and Lu Xingchi has long since become hers.
