Criminal Investigation Diary: Another Day of Meeting My Quota Through Fortune-Telling

Qin Feng transmigrates to a parallel world with an off-the-charts crime rate and becomes a beat cop.

He thinks he can put his knowledge of six thousand police movies to good use, but the System gives him The Complete Guide to Fortune-Telling Masters from the start.

From then on, Qin Feng solves cases by reading his fingers, catches criminals by reading their faces, and interrogates suspects by casting divinations and consulting spirits.

An electric bike theft? Qin Feng predicts the alley where it’s hidden and the lame thief’s favorite breakfast.

A wife-murder-and-body-dumping case? Qin Feng casts a line into a reservoir and reels in a suitcase containing the corpse.

A string of murders? Qin Feng studies a wanted poster for three seconds and tells them which bridge the fugitive will sleep under that night.

The station chief looks at Qin Feng, at a loss for words. The instructor tells him to believe in science, while the criminal investigation squad fights to transfer Qin Feng to their team and “study” him.

Then Qin Feng sighs at the police station’s wall of honors:

“Another month, another KPI smashed... Honestly, I just want to solve one case with evidence for once and experience the joys of being an ordinary cop.”

As soon as he finishes speaking, the station chief roars from behind him:

“Qin Feng! The city bureau leaders told you to keep a low profile! Criminals in the neighboring province are turning themselves in as a group. They’d rather go to prison than let you tell their fortunes!”
