The Embroidered Flower: A Cast-Off Wife Stuns the Capital with Her Art

Su Jinwan, a modern artisan who makes velvet flowers, dies suddenly after staying up all night to finish a custom order for the Palace Museum. She wakes up in the body of a barren, discarded wife from the Household Department Vice Minister’s household in the Great Sheng Dynasty. Her original self was tormented to death by her spiteful mother-in-law, and her body was carelessly abandoned in a desolate mountain god temple. After waking, Su Jinwan unexpectedly activates a portable space: a climate-controlled greenhouse dedicated to cultivating velvet flowers. Inside are lost patterns and secret dye recipes, and it can even accelerate the transformation of materials such as silk and copper wire. It also contains spirit spring water that keeps velvet flowers from fading for ten years.

With the space at her disposal, she first makes a red plum velvet flower hairpin to trade for food and medicine that save her life, then uses her exquisite craftsmanship to establish herself in a small town. By chance, she meets Xiao Che, a crippled former-dynasty general left idle on the outskirts of the capital. Xiao Che understands velvet flowers and appreciates her character. He not only helps her find a way into the capital, but also becomes her strongest ally.
