Heart Rate 149

In 2025, Xingyao Media launched the Heartbeat Mystery livestream project. Trainees wore biometric monitors as they took part in interactive challenges, with their heart-rate data broadcast in real time. Fourth-generation dance ace Lin Shu became famous as the “iceberg” with a heart rate of 89, while third-generation lead vocalist Chen Yao earned the title of “pure-hearted king” with a heart rate of 160.

The whole internet went wild shipping them. Only the two of them knew the truth:

- Lin Shu deleted his real data backstage: a peak of 149, annotated “the warmth of his fingertips”

- Outside the door, Chen Yao heard Lin Shu’s suppressed panting: “I’m done for. He knows.”

This was a silent wildfire that had been burning for three years.

One taught the other how to make his eyes tell a story late at night.

The other learned to dance with his mind from a hospital bed.

They saved each other in countless practice rooms at dawn, yet pretended to be strangers in front of cameras watched by millions.
