Under the Moon, Cheng Zhou Transmigrates into Zhu Yingtai and Helps Ma Wencai Get His Happy Ending

Top-tier star Zhou Ye wakes up to find herself transmigrated into the role of Zhu Yingtai, a woman disguised as a man, and bound to a “Never Break Character” System. According to the original story, she must maintain her devoted-love persona toward Liang Shanbo and ultimately die for love, transforming into a butterfly. But then

Why is Ma Wencai, who’s always provoking her at the academy and picking fights with her, acting more and more like Cheng Lei, the top-tier star she once worked with?

Even stranger, after an accidental touch, they both hear the System’s alert:

[Warning: Two rule-breaking transmigrators detected. Zhu Yingtai’s original ending: die for love and become a butterfly. Ma Wencai’s original ending: ruin his reputation and die alone.]

[Hidden mission activated: If you can join hands to rewrite each other’s fate, you will unlock a way back.]

Zhou Ye/Zhu Yingtai: “Work together?”

Cheng Lei/Ma Wencai: “Deal.”

So Liang Shanbo notices that his “worthy younger brother” has started avoiding him at every turn, while the ever-arrogant Ma Wencai begins helping Zhu Yingtai copy texts and covering for her. The academy’s students gradually realize something is off. Weren’t they supposed to be caught in a tragic love triangle? Why are the “rivals in love” exchanging increasingly smoldering looks?
