You Are the Shenzhen Girl I Can't Forget

This novel is more than the story of two people: it is a portrait of a generation of migrants who came to Shenzhen in search of a future. When Xue Bao and Yiyi look back from 2025 at the green train of 1996, they see not only their own youth, but also the traces of struggle left behind by countless people in this city. And it all began with that unforgettable girl.

It tells the story of two young people who meet, grow, fall in love, and build a business in Shenzhen, a city shaped by reform and opening up. It is the story of one person’s struggle, the story of a city’s transformation, and the collective memory of an entire generation.

The latest work by Principal Jiang of Yongzhou explores, through the story of Xue Bao and Yiyi, how to stay true to yourself, define success, and protect love and ideals amid an era of rapid change. This is a different kind of Shenzhen love story, one that, like the city itself, has both speed and passion, warmth and tenderness.
