My Sweetheart

Xifan is 25. After graduating from Hunan First Normal University, she passed the civil service exam and became a third-grade homeroom teacher and Chinese teacher at Yongzhou Cuizhu Primary School, where she has worked for three years. Her father, Tang Xinyuan, is the general manager of Zhongshan Construction Engineering Company in Lingling District, and her mother, Lin Xiaozhen, teaches high school at Yongzhou No. 2 High School. Hers is a happy, well-off family of educated people.

Xue Bao grew up in a rural village in Shanglingqiao Town, Lengshuitan District. He is a year younger than Xifan and comes from a poor family. After completing a two-year college program, he entered the workforce at 20 and got a job at Yongzhou Second People's Hospital. After work, he freelances as a content creator, writes novels, shoots short videos, and occasionally trades stocks. Although his salary is under 10,000 yuan, he achieved financial independence at a young age, making over two million yuan in the stock market. He then bought gold and silver, and in just two years, from 2024 to 2025, his net worth reached 15 million yuan. His work in content creation and writing has also grown steadily more successful, earning him a modest reputation.

Xifan's parents look down on Xiao Bao because he comes from a rural family. But after five years of hard work, Xue Bao has given his parents a happy, comfortable life. Xifan and Xue Bao were classmates at Yongzhou No. 2 High School, where they studied in Teacher Lin's class. One was a poor student, the other a top student. Xiao Bao spent every day dreaming of dating Xifan. She earned excellent grades and got into the Chinese department at Hunan First Normal University, while Xue Bao went to the publicly funded Yongzhou Vocational and Technical College to study medicine. They began a long-distance relationship in high school, which continued through college. After graduating, they both passed the civil service exam and, through their own efforts, gradually established themselves at a school and a hospital. At his parents' urging, Xue Bao went after Xifan, and in the end, the two lovers found their way to each other.

This is more than a love story. It is also the story of two generations of Chinese people striving through a changing era.
