The Martial Arts World of Candlestick Charts

Known in investment circles as Principal Jiang, “Teacher Milan” Jiang Xuebao has spent nearly eighteen years in the financial markets. He and his wife, Zeng Liping, entered the market in 2012 with just 6,000 yuan and built a fortune of four billion yuan. Now a professor at Nanhua University of Science and Technology, he teaches his students: “Studying finance isn't about learning how to make money. It's about learning to understand the world: how the economy works, how companies create value, and how human nature reveals itself in the face of money. Once you've mastered it, you can use that knowledge to do good: help ordinary people manage their money, help good companies secure financing, and make the market fairer. That's what finance is really about.” This, too, is the essence of the knight-errant's highest purpose. His ideas have sparked a “martial arts investing” craze on social media. Some people compile “Jin Yong's investment principles,” others write “Gu Long's stop-loss secrets,” and some use the “Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms” to describe eighteen investment strategies. What he talks about is more than stock trading. It's about how to live, how to deal with the world, and the Way. Ultimately, investing means investing in yourself: what you believe in, what you protect, and what you aspire to become.

The road through the jianghu stretches far, and the path ahead is arduous.

Through the lens of the martial arts world, the novel reinterprets the financial markets: candlestick charts are fighting moves, financial statements are internal cultivation, market sentiment is a dark force of the mind, and the true peerless art is an investment philosophy grounded in self-understanding, moral conviction, and service to society. Centered on Teacher Milan's “martial arts investing” philosophy, the story follows a group of ordinary investors through the jianghu of the markets. They experience greed, fear, disillusionment, and enlightenment before finally finding the Way of the Knight-Errant!
