The Five-Year-Old Treasure Hunter Who Astonished the World by Picking Through Trash

“As long as An’an can find Grandpa, she won’t be afraid of the dark or going hungry.”

Five-year-old Lin An’an escapes from the woodshed at her aunt’s house, driven by a single unwavering resolve.

In the depths of winter, she drags along a woven sack bigger than she is, filled with what she considers “treasures.”

Passersby laugh and call her a little beggar. Only she knows that all this “trash” is shining.

Covered in bruises, she stands before a hunched old man.

Lin An’an, timidly: “Grandpa, are you my grandpa? I have treasures. I’ll buy you meat to eat.”

At that moment, Lin Guodong, once proud and unyielding but crushed by life, bursts into tears.

Who says she’s an unwanted little stray?

She’s the apple of an appraisal master’s eye, a little treasure-hunting genius worth billions!

Watching Grandpa risk offending the powerful to protect her and make his return to the world, Lin An’an hugs his leg and rubs against him: “Don’t be scared, Grandpa. An’an will take care of you!”

This is a story about healing and being healed, and about a little girl who shocks the world with her “trash.”
