The Five-Year-Old Girl Can Tell Fortunes, and Her Commander Dad Dotes on Her

[Period Drama + Adorable Child + Everyone’s Darling + Serving the Country + Solving Cases]

Su Ruanruan has a secret: she can see things other people can’t.

But instead of making her a child prodigy, it only makes the adults see her as a “freak.”

When her foster mother tries to sell her, she has no choice but to grab her little bundle and go find her biological father by pretending to get hit by his car.

She thinks she’s found someone to rely on and can lie flat, but then

Su Ruanruan: “Uncle, that pretty lady isn’t a good person. She wants to hurt you.”

Huo Zhan, awkwardly: “That’s the star of the art troupe…”

Su Ruanruan: “Grandpa, the secret money you hid in your shoe is getting moldy!”

Grandpa Huo, horrified: “Shh! Don’t let your grandma hear!”

Su Ruanruan: “Grandma, you cried last night because you missed Uncle, didn’t you?”

Grandma Huo, haughtily: “Nonsense! I got sand in my eye!”

Huo Zhan spends every day on edge. “Sweetheart, can you see through things without saying them out loud?”

Su Ruanruan, twisting her fingers in distress: “But… if I don’t tell you, something bad will happen to you.”

This isn’t adopting a daughter, it’s bringing home a “human lie detector”!

Still…

Watching the rotten relatives and ill-intentioned schemers get put firmly in their place,

Huo Zhan says, “Now that’s what I’m talking about! Sweetheart, read your dad’s fortune again.”
