We’re Just Good Buddies, So Why Do You Care If I Pick a Hostess?

I was Pei Jiaxue's "best buddy" for twenty years.

Even after one drunken night when we ended up in bed together and lost our virginity to each other,

all I got in return was:

"It was just an accident, Gu Xuanming. We'll be friends for life, right?"

I thought Pei Jiaxue was just chaste and slow to understand her own feelings.

That was until the housekeeper climbed into my father's bed, and I shot her in the leg.

Pei Jiaxue should have been standing by my side, but her eyes went to Gu Nanhuai, standing in front of the housekeeper with an indignant look on his face.

She'd fallen in love with the housekeeper's son and brazenly brought him into our social circle.

She even announced at a Pei family banquet that she was going to marry him.

I was the only one left, an awkward childhood friend who became a laughingstock across the city.

Later, my mother, worn down by gossip and depression, leapt from the roof of our villa.

The twenty-year dream I'd been lost in shattered to pieces.

I decided to leave her world and start my life over.

But Pei Jiaxue,

we're just childhood friends. Why are you getting so worked up because I sleep around with a few models?
