Emperor Jingtai of Great Ming: From Tumu Fortress to Emperor for the Ages

Li Mingyuan, a graduate student of history, unexpectedly transmigrated to the Ming dynasty and became the “unluckiest emperor,” Zhu Qiyu, after the Tumu Crisis. His elder brother had been captured, the Oirat army was at the gates, and the entire court urged him to flee south.

Retreat? The people of this realm are right behind me!

Drawing on his modern knowledge as a history graduate student, he overruled the opposition and personally climbed the city walls. His resounding victory in the Defense of the Capital marked the beginning of his iron-fisted reign.

Bring my elder brother back? Fine, he can live quietly in the Southern Palace as the retired emperor! The civil officials are forming factions? Fine, I’ll break up one faction and win over another, until my voice is the only one heard in court!

From then on, he set the court in order, reformed the military, and built up the nation’s strength. His gaze reached across the stars and seas. The Oirats, Central Asia, Rus, Europe… The dragon banners of the Ming would fly in every corner of the world. An unprecedented empire on which the sun would never set would be born under his hand!
