Poem of the Blazing Clouds

[Play the Pig to Eat the Tiger, Sickly on the Surface but a Fighter Inside] [Timid on the Surface but Tough]

Lin Zhuohua is the least remarkable of the General's Manor's four young ladies.

Her three elder sisters are famous throughout the capital, but she is plain-looking, mediocre at the arts, and always lowers her head when meeting people.

Everyone says she is the most useless daughter of the Lin family.

Only she knows that the playboys she beats to tears every month could circle the imperial city three times.

Until one day, after beating someone up in an alley, she runs into a young man dressed in white.

Leaning against the wall, he smiles. "You have quite a talent for fighting, Miss."

Lin Zhuohua covers her face and runs. Oh no, he's found out!

Lu Yunci is the frail, frequently ill third young master of the Duke's manor.

His eldest brother is a highly decorated general, and his second brother is a shrewd, well-connected strategist.

Everyone thinks he needs protecting.

Only he knows that half the capital's covert agents are his eyes and ears.

Until one day, he sees a flash of red robes in an alley.

Watching the girl cover her face and flee after beating someone up makes him think for the first time that the capital is getting interesting.

Later...

When noblewomen mock Lin Zhuohua as "uncouth," Lu Yunci coughs up blood and hands her a handkerchief. "I... I like it rough."

Zhao Heng blocks someone's way in the street. "Become my woman, and I'll make sure you can do whatever you want!"

That very night, his father is impeached in eighteen memorials, and his scandalous past is spread throughout the city.

Later still, an assassination attempt takes place at a palace banquet.

Lin Zhuohua tears off part of her skirt and takes down three assassins with her bare hands.

Turning around, she sees her "sickly" fiance calmly wiping blood from his sword.

Their eyes meet. Both fall silent.

Lu Yunci smiles. "What a coincidence, darling. Here to stretch your muscles too?"

Lin Zhuohua raises an eyebrow. "Likewise, dear husband. Have you mastered the art of coughing up blood?"
