[This is a wish-fulfillment spin-off of Dream of the Red Chamber. Xiangling’s comeback and the founding of the Daughters’ Alliance are original plotlines, with entertainment taking priority. Readers who mind fictional elements should proceed with caution. This is not official history, nor a retelling of the original plot! The setting, story, and characters have all been reimagined, and differ greatly from the original world and its tragic tone. Readers seeking a faithful recreation of the original should stay away!]

The world says I, Jia Baoyu, am a devil who runs wild and the most useless man alive. But while my sisters struggle in the depths of despair, how can I go on drowning in wine and dreams?

I burned The Story of the Western Wing and founded The Daughters’ Voice, speaking up for women everywhere!

I smashed the magic jade, earned official honors, and refused to become a rich man of leisure. I would be a censor!

Tanchun wanted power, so I wrote “On Women’s Talents and Abilities” and left the whole court of pedantic Confucian scholars speechless! Baochai wanted to go into business, so I exposed the salt merchants’ shady dealings and let them take over smoothly! Daiyu made her plans, and I backed her with an attack in court, nailing our enemies to the pillar of shame!

They impeached the Daughters’ Alliance? I hit back with a ten-thousand-character indictment detailing their corruption and concubines! They tried to crush us with public opinion? The Daughters’ Voice, which I run, was already the most widely read newspaper in the land. The people were on my side!

They thought I was just a figurehead for the Daughters’ Alliance?

Wrong! I am their sharpest blade, the weapon that will pierce this world that devours women! I, Jia Baoyu, will wield my pen like a sword and protect my kingdom of women!
