Roses Aren't Easy to Win Over

Yue Xi gets cheated on, falls out with her best friend, then spends one wild, heartbroken night at a bar. The next day, Weibo explodes, and her ex turns the tables by accusing her of bigamy. She walks into court in high heels and silences the room with, "I'm single, damn it." Judge Song Zhiqing looks up coldly. "Defendant, watch your language."

She fires back, "You're pretty hot yourself."

He bangs his gavel. "No flirting with the judge."

She smiles. "I'm just telling the truth. Nice hands, handsome face, killer legs."

He says expressionlessly, "Add me on WeChat."

She refuses. "No. You're way too chaste, it's dangerous. I'm afraid I might accidentally drag you home and make you my husband."

Later, she really does accidentally drag him home.

In the new drama she's starring in, her character is the "ideal daughter-in-law" from the pen of Song Zhiqing's mother. Song's mother watches the show, then turns to her son. "Should we bring her home for real, too?"

Song Zhiqing's friend laughs himself silly. "I've noticed you Songs all fall for actresses."

Later, Yue Xi gets caught "having fun" at a bar, and Song Zhiqing rushes to the Criminal Investigation Division to bail her out, his face dark.

She grins at him. "You know this captain?"

Song Zhiqing: "Song Yu, captain of the Criminal Investigation Division, is my dad."

Yue Xi turns to him. "Hello, Uncle. I'm your son's one-night stand."

Then she looks back at Song Zhiqing. "Who knew? You're the police department's young master?"

Song Zhiqing leans down. "I might even be the young master of the capital's elite circle. Want to... get to know me better?"

One day at dinner, she bends over a design sketch. He glances at it. "Drawing handcuffs? No need. I'll ask Dad to issue us a pair."

She looks up. "Judge Song, that's abuse of power for personal gain."

He smiles faintly. "I'm after you."
