Tang Dynasty Inspector: Refining the Heavenly Book Through Strange Cases

[The Book of Strange Cases: The Strange Fetus Descends] Lu Lingfeng was gravely wounded and on the brink of death when a book of strange cases suddenly appeared in his mind. A beauty in Chang'an changed her skin by night, peonies in Luoyang devoured noblemen alive, and merfolk in Jiangnan wept pearls that claimed lives... Every strange case was more uncanny than The Shash. The Crown Prince sought to use him to eradicate the Underworld Bureau, the Princess used a bargain to keep the court in check, and Su Wuming concealed a shocking secret... But Lu Lingfeng knew that every case he solved refined a page of the book. His powers grew stronger, yet he grew further from being human. When every clue pointed to him being a “strange fetus sent by Heaven to patrol the realm,” when the one he loved raised a sword against him, and when his brother became the key to the mystery... Was he swinging his blade at the human heart, or at fate itself? This strike would cleave open the most bizarre truth of the Great Tang: a three-sided killing game spanning the court, the martial world, and the underworld, all beneath the edge of his blade.
